Stormy Skies Over Sicily ⛈️🌾

This photo is a little different from the others, but it’s one of my favourites from the entire trip. It was taken right as a storm was rolling in off the Mediterranean, and the whole atmosphere changed in an instant. 🤫 The bright, sunny day suddenly had this incredible, dramatic tension in the air.

I was walking along a path by the coast, and the sky started to get this deep, brooding feel, turning from blue to a dark, moody gray. The light was fading fast, and everything took on this almost cinematic, desaturated tone. I saw these tufts of dry grass growing out of the rocky ground and decided to get down low to capture them against the intense sky. 🌾 The grass looks almost like spiky hair, reaching up to the churning clouds above.

It reminds me that even in the middle of a beautiful, sunny trip, you can find so much beauty and interest in the darker moments, too. There’s a certain kind of raw, powerful energy that comes with an approaching storm. It was a fleeting, but totally unforgettable moment of just being in awe of nature’s power. 🖤 It’s a good reminder that not every memory has to be bright and shiny to be impactful. Sometimes, the most memorable ones are the ones that are a little bit more intense and dramatic.
